Cary is an 8 year old, 9 lb Chihuahua mix. Humane Tomorrow picked up Cary and 10 other Chihuahua mixes that were surrendered to a rural shelter. These dogs had not been socialized, but Cary is very friendly, even after all he has been through. Cary has old broken bones that have healed on their own, so he has a bit of a stiff gait. His tail was also broken, and he had an injury to his eye. After enduring all of this, foster mom says that Cary has a fantastic, low-key personality. He loves to sit in a lap and cuddle. Cary adores and dotes on every adult he has met, but he is more hesitant with kids. He may do ok with older kids who understand they need to be quiet and gentle with him. He would prefer to be an only dog since he lived most of his life with a lot of other dogs. He needs some "Me" time with his people, although he might be fine with an older, laid back dog. He walks well on a leash, but he is not in any hurry; he likes to stop and smell the roses! He loves treats, and he will sit up on his haunches and "beg" for one. Cary is crate trained and making great progress on his potty training. Cary will be a devoted companion and love his people with his whole heart!
